古田徹也さんが『言葉の魂の哲学』（講談社選書メチエ）で、第41回 サントリー学芸賞を受賞されました！おめでとうございます！ 受賞に併せまして、2019年8月30日にゲンロンカフェで行われたイベントの模様をVimeoにて緊急公開いたします。 ーーーーー 本動画は、東京のゲンロンカフェで行われたトークショーを収録したものです。 【収録時のタイトル】 古田徹也×山本貴光 「言葉を選び取る責任について――古田徹也『言葉の魂の哲学』をめぐって」 【収録日】 2019/08/30 【イベント概要】 「今」という字をじっと見つめ続けてみよう。また「今今今今今今今今……」と延々と書き続けてみよう。すると「今」は単なる線の集合体、無意味な図像のように見えてくることがある。一般に「ゲシュタルト崩壊」と呼ばれる現象だ。 同じことは、われわれの日常にも散見される。例えば為政者が紋切り型の答弁を何度もくり返すのを目の当たりにしたとき、そこに言葉本来の意味や豊かさは失われ、空虚な響きしか感じられないことがある。言葉の魂が抜けて、死んだ記号の並びになってしまう。 では逆に、言葉が魂や生命を得るとはどういうことだろうか。生き生きとした表情を持って立ち上がるとは、どういうことだろうか。東京大学准教授の古田徹也氏は、著書『言葉の魂の哲学』のなかで、ウィトゲンシュタインやカール・クラウスの言語論をもとに緻密に探求を進めていく。 その射程は専門的な問題提起にとどまらない。個々の言葉に向き合い、多面的に理解しながら丹念に言葉を選び取っていくことの重要性は、攻撃的で決まりきったフレーズがSNS上で拡散され、ヘイトとフェイクニュースに溢れる現代社会だからこそ高まっている。 この度、ゲンロンカフェでは、言葉に魂が宿ること、そしてわれわれが言葉に向き合う責任について考えるイベントを開催する。 古田氏と語り合うのは、文筆家・ゲーム作家の山本貴光氏。 山本氏もまた『文体の科学』『文学問題（F＋f）＋』などの著書を通して、独創的な眼差しで言葉や文字に対する考察を続けている。その博覧強記ぶり、イベントでの見事なファシリテートは、ゲンロンカフェの来場者にはお馴染みだ。 古田氏はゲンロンカフェ初登壇となる。ゲンロンカフェならではの濃密な対話に要注目だ！ 【イベントページへのリンク】 https://genron-cafe.jp/event/20190830/
